THE NEAR FUTURE

At this current point in time, nothing of monolithic, earth-shattering, reality- twisting proportions is currently happening on Earth. In fact, the last massive earth-shattering event to grace the globe was the arrival of Jesus. Since he was here, the only things of monumental importance (from the heavenly perspective) that have occurred had to do with him in one way or another. Other than that, everything has been business as usual, at least from the perspective of the universe. Many people can actually live their lives thinking that this small, simple life is all there is, and there’s nothing up in their faces demanding their attention and stating otherwise, for the most part. This is especially the case in first world countries where religious persecution isn’t the norm.

The western mind is especially dull to the realm of the eternal. The only exception to this dullness, interestingly, lies in the imagination of science fiction writers, who bear peculiar insight into the greater reality much more than people realize (which I will soon briefly elaborate on).

A subtle shift in the collective consciousness of the people of the entire Earth is slowly transpiring, however. New Agers can feel it, though they incorrectly interpret it. Christians feel it as well, though their picture is somewhat antiquated (seen through the eyes of nontechnological people who are missing the pieces of the reality which we now grasp, yet do not realize it).

The rate of this change has accelerated with considerable momentum, especially within the past one hundred years. Many people are looking to the stars with a different perspective. A sense of being on the edge of something big is brimming within the hearts and minds of many people. Furthermore a conditioning has been preparing people, especially within the context of a plethora of exceptionally enlightened science fiction authors who are unknowingly seeing into the future to some extent, as I previously stated. The metaphysical concept of alternate realities is clear in the minds of many people, and the prospect of life in outer space is widely accepted, though frequently ridiculed on the surface. Simply consider the popularity of movies such as Star Wars and epic television shows such as Star Trek, both of which bear a strikingly accurate depiction of the heavens.

People are waiting, anticipating something big, but they’re not sure what it is. When it comes, in the blink of an eye, the shockwave of that initial, explosive event will reverberate across Earth in an unprecedented epiphany, though many will not be able to explain what it all means.
